For the past few years BIM Academy has been running Skills Bootcamps in partnership with New College Durham and we start 2024 with two new 10 week Bootcamp courses: Autodesk Revit Architecture Bootcamp and Building Information Modelling (BIM) Bootcamp.

Both offer bespoke training solutions to bridge existing skills gaps within high demand sectors by providing learners with the technical training needed to secure employment within high growth sectors.

BIM Academy is proud to be working once again with North East Local Enterprise Partnership, North of the Tyne Combined Authority and New College Durham to deliver these funded and flexible Bootcamps.

What is a Skills Bootcamp?

Skills Bootcamps offer free (for some), flexible courses of up to 10 weeks. They allow people to build up sector specific skills and fast track to an interview with a local employer.

Each Skills Bootcamp aims to help improve employability skills in a wide range of areas, including specialist digital construction skills.

Completing a Skills Bootcamp will provide learners with new skills to progress in their role or embark on a new career by enhancing their current skills level.

Who are the Bootcamps for?

They are available for adults aged 19+ after 31st August 2023, who are either in work or recently unemployed and live in England.

These specific bootcamps are for the North of the Tyne – Newcastle, North Tyneside, and Northumberland areas and for those local to the region the training is free, subject to meeting the following criteria:

  • Aged over 19 years of age
  • Self-employed, recently unemployed or looking for work, e.g. coming back into the workforce after a career break
  • Resident in England and legally entitled to live and work in the UK

Employers can also access this training to upskill their staff at a discounted price. Large employers contribute 30% of the total cost, and SMEs contribute 10%. The costs of each bootcamp vary; therefore, we would encourage you to contact us to find out more with regards to pricing.
