What is the best book you’ve ever read?

I love books, and the conscious action of reading a physical book. My favourite genre (at the moment) is science fiction, specifically dystopian novels. I find myself returning to Margaret Atwood’s ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ and ‘1984’ by George Orwell time and time again, but if I had to pick one, I’d choose ‘1984’.

What inspires you?

I watched my parents build the life they wanted, alongside a successful business, achieving both with very little initially, so it is difficult not to be inspired. They demonstrated the best possible values, a strong work ethic and often the need to make sacrifices in order to succeed. I was raised in an environment where I was encouraged to be myself and able to undergo my own journey of discovery. It is really a culmination of my upbringing and a deep rooted passion that motivates and inspires me, both personally and professionally. It is conscious decision to work hard and to progress.

What advice would you give to your 20-year old self?

I would emphasise the important of embracing change and pursuing what you’re passionate about. Trust in the process and have confidence in your abilities. You don’t always know the exact next steps, but there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s all part of the journey. When I was younger, I was always trying to map everything out to the last detail, but I’ve learnt to be comfortable going with the flow and I couldn’t be happier!
