How would you summarise your current role?

Lead of BIM and digital commissions within South East Asia for Ryder (Asia) Limited / BIM Academy (Enterprises) Limited.

What is your proudest moment?

At work, it has to be leading the winning team for the Build Earth Live: New York competition: 40 people, eight different companies, six different locations across two continents to deliver a scheme from inception to concept in 48 hours through a BIM-enabled process. It was incredibly rewarding to see everyone coming together and truly collaborate.

Outside of work, it has to be hiking up Mt Fuji – a very special, spiritual and quite literally breath-taking experience.

What added value do you bring to your projects?

A sincere, honest and human approach to delivering client value.

What is the best book you’ve ever read?

Best book is the Reflective Practitioner: How professionals think in action and best paper is Dilemmas in a General Theory of Planning. Both quite old, but certainly help put things into perspective for approaching and managing unknowns.

What do you think our industry could learn from other sectors?

Data quality metrics and the sociomaterial approach from Medicine. Data has to be specific, considered, purposeful, secured and available for medical professionals to do their job. The assemblage of this information and the professional allows for precise and informed decision making.
