BIM Academy has successfully been appointed to Fusion21’s Consultants Framework, a social enterprise specialising in a framework approach that has social value running through everything it does.

Fusion21 focuses on procurement with a purpose. It works with like-minded public sector organisations, partners and suppliers to build up communities and motivate sustainable change where it’s needed most. The Consultants Framework, which is reviewed every four years, provides procurement and technical expertise to Member organisations within the built environment, giving them access to highly skilled consultants such as BIM Academy.

At the end of September, Fusion21 announced the suppliers appointed to this £120Million Consultants Framework. Including BIM Academy, just over 100 specialist firms – including 80% SMEs – secured a place on the framework, which is expected to support more than 100 projects each year.

The Framework covers a broad spectrum of consultancy services – from multidisciplinary to surveying, architectural, environmental, engineering and project management.

Now in its fifth iteration, the Framework features four new lots, one of which is for BIM: Lot 3 – Building Information Modelling.

Phil Woodhead, Category Manager at Fusion21 commented: “We are delighted to welcome all of the new suppliers, including BIM Academy, onto the framework. The tender process was highly competitive, and the process has identified the best consultants for our members to use.

“A further, real benefit to our members and their communities is the social value delivery that is aligned to organisational priorities and can be monitored and reported against for all call offs.”

Dr Graham Kelly, BIM Academy Director, added: “The Framework helps Fusion21 Members achieve social value through procurement, as well as strengthening local economies, creating opportunities and supporting SMEs. It was a tough application process, but to be an appointed consultant is an honour. We share many of the same values as Fusion21, with a passion for adding value beyond commercial and economic gains.”
