Visualisation tools are extensively used by project planners in high level simulations. Planners use construction workspaces to conduct digital rehearsals for plant and equipment identifying dynamic clash detection at all stages of the project.

In June 2020, whilst still in the midst of the Covid-19 lockdown, the Prime Minister Boris Johnson invoked some of the 20th century’s most politically successful social reformists, announcing his government’s plan to spur economic growth in the wake of the Covid-19 epidemic.
In May 2018, Dame Judith Hackitt’s review into building regulations and fire safety was published. Commissioned by the government, Hackitt sought to review the circumstances which led to the tragedy of the Grenfell fire in June 2017. While the events of Grenfell remain firmly in our memories, the best way to honour the lives lost is to ensure that events such as this one never happen again.
A consortium of North East organisations renowned for driving transformation in the global construction market have been shortlisted for the chance to secure up to £50million to boost the region’s economy.
We’ve seen several definitions of “the golden thread” to date. Dame Judith Hackitt’s interim report called for “a golden thread for all complex and high-risk building projects so that the original design intent is preserved and recorded”.
In early August we ran a webinar which gave critical insights into identifying digital skills and how to enhance digital knowledge and experience to maximise value for organisations and their projects.
When asked to think about “digital skills” within the context of the built environment, it is easy for us to default immediately to “BIM”.
BIM Academy is excited to welcome Andrew Johnson as our newest team member. He joins us as Project Manager, bringing his wide and varied expertise to the table to implement projects, alongside designing and developing digital transformation programmes for industry clients.
There are a number of platitudes that come with being part of the BIM brigade. They ring true, but think about them some more…
Wherever you are on your BIM journey – whether a BIM beginner or a veteran – you need to understand why we need certification and the benefits it brings to your projects.
