Dr Oliver Jones
is the Programme Leader of the Architecture Programme at Northumbria
University. His research and consultancy expertise exists primarily in the
field of human-environment interaction, both physical and digital.
His core research interests include the study of human-environment interaction and the measurement of visual behaviour and human experience within physical and virtual environments. He also consults widely on the implementation of new and emerging technologies in the construction industry. He has been involved in a range of projects measuring, comparing, and validating human-environment interaction, human experience, and emotion classification within physical and virtual environments; he continues to remain active in this area, regularly working with Serious Games companies and virtual training environments. Most recently he has been investigating
Well-being measures in the construction industry and has developed measures to capture residential well-being. He is now exploring how these can be utilised alongside BIM to inform housing policy and design guidelines within the UK.
