Chris Linning

Chris has been involved in the professional implementation and utilisation of computer based design facilities since 1983. With a wide exposure to multiple engineering disciplines, both in federal government aviation departments and an international petro chemical company, Chris successfully implemented one of the first private personal computer based network CAD facilities within Australia.

Chris has been a nominated participant of the Australian CRC Sustainable Built Environment programme, a research member of the CRCCI National BIM Guidelines programme, a contributor in the 2012 AIA BIM in Practice education sub group and the CRCCI 2007 Facilities Management Action Agenda.

His role as manager of building information at Sydney Opera House provided him with the opportunity to develop a dynamic facilities management interface. As a qualified cartographer and civil engineering supervisor, Chris’ passion lies in sharing knowledge of his life journey, particularly BIM, from concept to implementation and utilisation of building information systems.
