This course is aimed at construction professionals seeking to develop their knowledge and understanding of Building Information Modelling and Management (BIM) software, covering a range of tools that can be utilised at different stages of a project. Delegates will gain an understanding of how different software and tools can be used together to drive efficiency on projects.
The course will be led by experienced BIM Academy instructors. You can expect a combination of presentations and interactive sessions, with demonstrations of software and case studies from completed projects.
Revit Family Authoring
Exploring custom Revit content creation, authoring and modifying 3D families for project use. The module looks at best practice set up, moving on to more advanced methods of family creation and use.
COBie (Information Exchanges)
An introduction into COBie information, covering the relevant standards, schema structure, uses and key project BIM documents. Module progresses to demonstrate how to export data from a building information model and how to validate and check information produced.
3D Coordination using Navisworks
Using Navisworks to identify coordination issues between different disciplinary models
3D Coordination using Solibri
Using Solibri to identify coordination issues between different disciplinary models, moving on to intelligent ways of reporting, issuing and tracking issues on a project, including BIM Collab files and cloud based issue management.
Ruleset Creation and Model Compliance using Solibri
Using Solibri to create custom rulesets and classifications for the checking and validation of model geometry and data.
Visual Programming using Dynamo
An introduction into Dynamo, looking at practical day to day uses, focusing on the integration with Revit. This module gives an introduction into the UI, progressing on to geometry creation, data import/export and changing mass properties using Dynamo scripts.
Rendering and Walkthroughs using Enscape
Using Enscape, users will gain an understanding of how project models can be rendered in real-time. The module will look at live rendering, rendering stills and creating walk throughs.
